Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford needs Garden Volunteers! Can you help?
Join our 2018 Gardening Volunteer Programme. It’s going to be an exciting year! In support of National Gardening Week, our first 2018 volunteering dates are now open, taking place each day from Monday 30th April to Friday 4th May, 10am to 3pm.
Join us to improve the grounds and gardens of Broomfield Hospital. Different activities will be taking place each day, with all activities suiting your schedule, attend when you can even a couple of hours will be of great help. Digging, planting and seat varnishing are all planned.
Our volunteer sessions are led by a professional horticultural expert and you will receive all the training and equipment required for tasks. Learn new skills, meet new people and have some fun whilst helping us to improve the hospital to benefit our patients, visitors and staff.
You’ll be helping to;
- Revitalising hospital entrances with a splash of planting colour
- Rejuvenating our historic Sunken Garden, built in the 1960’s and now redesigned to provide a therapeutic environment for patients receiving cancer treatment
- Re-varnishing the popular seating areas on the Wellbeing Terrace, the peaceful relaxation spot to enjoy moments outside
